A Coinglass Alternative That Publishes Its Own Scorecard
Coinglass is where most traders meet a liquidation heatmap, and its breadth is real. This page is an honest side-by-side: what Coinglass does, what Hunter Killer does differently, and how to judge any liquidation map, ours included.
What Coinglass does
Coinglass is a crypto derivatives data platform. Its best-known surface is the aggregate liquidation heatmap: an estimate of where leveraged positions would be force-closed, drawn as colored bands across price, built from data aggregated across major exchanges and offered in several models. Around it sit the adjacent dashboards derivatives traders use daily: open interest, funding rates, long/short ratios, a real-time liquidation feed, and more.
The core heatmap is free; deeper history, more timeframes and API access sit on its paid plans. For raw breadth of derivatives data in one place, it is the established reference, and we think that reputation is earned.
Described from Coinglass's public pages as of August 2026. Their product and plans change; check coinglass.com for the current state.
The question most heatmaps leave unanswered
Every liquidation heatmap, ours included, is an estimate: no exchange publishes where its open liquidation levels sit, so every platform models them. The colors tell you where the modeled clusters are. What they do not tell you is whether those levels meant anything afterward: did price actually trade through them, how often, and over how many observations?
As of our last check (August 2026), we could not find a per-level measured accuracy record for the Coinglass heatmap on its public pages. That is normal for the category, not a criticism of one vendor: modeled levels are usually sold on coverage, not on a graded track record. It is also the specific gap Hunter Killer was built to close.
What Hunter Killer does differently
We log published levels before scoring their outcomes. The public record retains misses and compares with simple baselines, including when a baseline does as well or better. Only evidence cleared for public release is shown. The method and the dated record are available on /proof.
- The public record is free on /proof: published-level scoring, dated evidence and the method are available to inspect.
- The autopsy library on /autopsies posts a public post-mortem for every major cascade: what the map said before it started, which levels price reached, misses included.
- The methodology is published on /methodology, with the frozen metric contract and a changelog.
- Five free calculators (liquidation price, P&L, position size, Kelly, funding rate) need no signup at all.
- Cascade alerts fire only at high severity, rate-capped, and cite the observed wall, time and source data. See how the alerts work.

Where Coinglass is the better fit
Honesty cuts both ways. If you want the widest set of derivatives dashboards in one place, a long-established interface, many assets and long history, Coinglass is a reasonable default and plenty of traders will stay there happily. Many of our own users keep both open.
If the question you actually care about is "can I trust these levels, and how would I know?", that is the question Hunter Killer exists to answer, in public, with the misses on the record.
How to judge any liquidation map, ours included
- Can you inspect the record and its method? Check when levels were logged, how outcomes are scored, which simple baselines are used and whether misses stay in the record.
- Does it show its misses? A vendor that only screenshots wins is telling you how it sells, not how it measures. Our autopsies include the misses by design.
- Does it separate estimates from observations? A heatmap describes where forced orders are estimated to sit. It is market context, not a forecast.
See the levels with their measurements attached
The Money Map estimates the clusters continuously across venues and shows where the forced orders are stacked right now, in real dollars, with the measured track record of the levels riding alongside. The majors map is free, no account.
Questions traders actually ask
Is Hunter Killer a good Coinglass alternative?
It depends on what you need. Coinglass is a broad crypto derivatives data platform. Hunter Killer focuses on liquidation research and a public record of published levels. Levels are logged before scoring; misses and simple baseline comparisons remain in the record. If you want the widest set of derivatives dashboards, Coinglass is a reasonable default. If you want to inspect how published levels are scored, read our method and record.
Does Coinglass publish a per-level record?
As of our last check in August 2026, we could not find a per-level public outcome record on its pages. This may change; check Coinglass for current details. Our own public record explains the method and shows only evidence cleared for release, including misses.
What does Coinglass do that Hunter Killer does not?
Breadth of adjacent dashboards. Coinglass covers many exchanges, coins and historical views, plus sentiment and ETF-flow pages. It may be a better fit for broad derivatives research. Hunter Killer focuses on the liquidation map, wall alerts, dated cascade case studies, calculators and the public record.
Does a liquidation heatmap tell you where price will go?
No. A heatmap describes where forced orders are estimated to sit. It is market context, not a forecast. We log published levels before scoring their outcomes and retain misses.
Is Hunter Killer free to try?
Yes. A free account needs no card and includes BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, BNB and DOGE delayed 2 hours, one wall alert by email, calculators and the public record. The separate public Telegram channel is free. Pro adds live data and personal Telegram alerts. Pro is $39 a month, Founding 50, locked for life when you start before January 15, 2027. After that, $79 for new members.
Does Hunter Killer have a free account?
Yes. A free account needs no card. It includes the delayed majors Money Map, the public record, five calculators and one free wall alert on one coin by email. Pro is $39 a month, Founding 50, locked for life when you start before January 15, 2027. After that, $79 for new members.
What is the refund policy?
Full refund within 30 days of the first charge. Cancelling stops future renewals and keeps access through the period already paid.
